How many does it cost to go to space? Also, will there any space chimps??
It was absolutely stellar experience to visit here. Their social distancing policy was very much enforced so had no concerns of it being overcrowded. Everywhere (inside bathrooms also) are spotless.
MoreNobody could tell me what the tram tour went to or how long to plan for it. We had another tour set up and needed to plan around it. If you go on the training pool tour be aware that it is a 10-12 minute bus ride then about 15-20 minutes to watch what the astronauts are doing under the water. You observe from about 20 feet above the water in an enclosed walk way. Then 10-12 minutes bus ride back. All of the staff seemed very knowledgeable about all of the stuff there (except the tours) and were very friendly and helpful.
MoreWent during COVID-19 and very satisfied. VERY few people, spacious, and overall the best experience I had at NASA since I had time to look around and not have any discomfort of being in a large crowd of people. So many interesting things about space - learned a lot that day.
MoreGreat place to spend the day with my grandson.
I looked at my watch and realized we had been there already 3 hours and didn't even realize it. Went on a weekday and spent about 4 hours total. Kids loved it and we all learned a ton.
MoreVery interesting experience and one of its kind!Good exhibits and detailed information of each exhibits make it more interesting.AR experience at exhibits keeps engaged. Download the space center Houston mobile app for better experience. The tram tour is highlight with dropping at live centers, rocket center was thrilling. Souvenir collection made easy with space trader shop on campus.
MoreMy wife and I spent the entire day there and did not get a chance to see everything. I highly recommend an early start to your day. The entire space center was amazing to see. History does come to life (my wife and I were in grammar school when the space race was occurring). Here is how we rated what we saw:Orion tour - excellentMission control - excellentAstronaut training - goodSpace shuttle transport- excellentMuseum - excellentWe did not have the opportunity to see most of the movies since the tours are all very lengthy
MoreThis on can learning about how to launch the rocket and going straight to the space station, moon, and fly. This one is the loveliest place to go our family. Take a picture for nice place, and I will get 10 stars. I will going to get so proud for being a good rockets. This one from mission control is being look at the museum. Do you know about to how do you need to get pictures on NASA building! This is a brave day of the near the Galveston and Houston. This is a secret of the International Space Station is kind of the way out of escape pod. Ride the rocket to the space. Rich place to going for this By-Pass of the highway on Highway 1 and Interstate 45. One idea, what is the know about how to launch the rocket before you going in the Sky. The government will have to show the scientists for the rocks and record for the staying in the space for like an almost an year ago. They looked a moly way of the NASA flag in the moon. Enjoy your brave you own flying your rocket! Thank You!
MoreVery cool place to visit. Good precautions for social distancing and wearing of masks with active cleaning and sanitation visible. Visited once as a child and remember it was boring self guided space junk yard tour. Now dynamic, interactive, and educational. Too much to see in a short visit. Come to stay for the day to get the full effect. Very enjoyable day.
MoreNot much to do, has some cool things. Liked being able to see the different astronaut outfits. About 1hr and a half we were done going thru the exhibit. Take into consideration that due to the pandemic there wasn't a lot of people. This is maybe for space fanatics. Although I enjoy learning about space and I'm fascinated by space travel I honestly did not think this was worth it.
MoreThe kids loved it!! Kept them loving space even more and the staff was very friendly and interactive! It was not too busy so waiting for the trams was not much of an issue. Love that they take a pic before going to the tram and you can look up your picture online as well for a very cute souvenir!
MoreWhile I enjoyed the experience, I thought the facilities at Cape Kennedy were better. Overall still a good time, and kid friendly.
MoreGreat Place to visit. Interesting tours like astronaut training facility. You can see a shuttle on a shuttle carrier 747 and walk through it. Saturn V moon rocket and now also a falcon 9. lots of activities for kids.A must see in Houston!
MoreNice place for a family outing.... Interesting sites and informative.
Great place to spend an entire day at kids love this place. Teens would love this too as there are some rides they would enjoy such as the fighter jet simulation and the spacecraft simulator. You can also go to the go on a trip to see an actual Saturn 5 and inside the NASA training facility and the Mission control room used for the Apollo missions!! The only down side is that there is a long waiting time to do any thing super fun.
MoreVery well done exhibit for the whole family. Only down side is the prices of food. A vending machine sandwich , chips and a coke cost 15 bucks.
MoreLove, love, love but only if you are into space. It has so many hands on and presentations with home science and live feeds. Mission control is closed to people but still so much fun.
MoreIt's fun but was expecting more. A lot of things were broken and just didn't seem like it was worth the price per ticket. Overall had a good time though and plenty to do. Definitely go on the Tram ride, it was very informative. Food was good in my opinion and staff was exceptional. Very kind and helpful.
MoreI am sure is awesome, but is currently closed until July 1st, 2020 (due to COVID-19). Check the website before heading there. People can see the flown Falcon 9 first stage from the road and the mock-up of the space shuttle. There is also an Apollo test capsule and NASA planes in the entrance gate that can be seen anytime.
MoreSome really cool items on display but tickets are pricey and parts of the space center are closed for corona virus. Heads up, it’s freaking hot and very humid in Houston in the summer.
MoreIt was cool to experience on our way to the beach in Galveston. Everyone had on Masks. It was nice and clean. I highly recommend it especially if you are taking kids. I hope you enjoy my pictures, hit the like button or follow me😜
MoreMy friend had never been. It was a birthday trip siteseeing and eating. A must see especially for school ages.
MoreJust great place to learn about the space activists and many more.
Space Center Houston is packed full of information and hands on things to do. I wish I would have researched a little more before going. The only way to explore outside the main building is to buy an additional tram tour or the level 9 tour. Unfortunately, since I did not research these items i did not have time to do the additional tours. For 30$ it was pretty good but there is a lot more that could be offered. Overall it was a great experience.
MoreSo much bigger than it looks from far away. You can tell the employees really enjoy working there. Love the love for space here 😊
MoreJust visited Space Center Houston at 10am, July 17, 2020, reopening day. I would like to assure anyone considering visiting that they have everything set up to safely have visitors tour the facility, enjoy live presentations, watch a film, tour the 747 and space shuttle, see the Space X rocket, take the tram ride, and visit the building housing the Saturn Five. All the workers were very nice and accommodating as they helped everyone navigate the facility during this Covid 19 pandemic. Great job Space Center Houston!
MoreWe got to see stuff FROM SPACE! What more is there to say really?! It was incredible! I would love to visit a second time, I feel like I didn't see everything enough!
MoreI enjoyed visiting the Space Center. It was very educational. My only problem was having to wear the mask for the photo when you first arrived. We were more than 6 foot from anyone and it would have made a memoriable photo without the mask. Did not mind wearing it throughout the building.
MoreSo many unique and genuine items on display. The Saturn V rocket is awe inspiring as is the space shuttle/ 747 transport. We were also able to catch a talk by a former astronaut, excellent.
MoreOur tour guide Dave was wonderful, and very informative. Great time.
It was absolutely awesome I want to say thank you to my niece and Israel for taking me and letting me experience that it's different from Alabama one but it's still cool to to go see highly recommended
MoreWe like the place, came all the way from Dallas. Like the tour with the guide and also VR.
MoreAs a kid that obsessed with space I was super excited to come as an adult. I got to see the Capsules, suits, gears and most amazingly actual moon rocks that just really made you sit and think. By had two “showings” to sit and listen to an actual astronaut which was really interesting. Took the tram to the rocket on site which was just unreal. Because of Covid I couldn’t visit the control room but to walk and experience the exhibit without a crowd was really something special. Going into the Boeing shuttle carrier with no one else in was also an amazing experience. This place is a must go.
MoreWhat a fun day!!! I didn't want to commit to buying a season pass until I had a chance to go inside. I had a blast. Believe me, you'll want to come back, and more than once. There's so much to see and do. And, you can see actual space suits worn in space. I even touch a piece of the moon. I can't wait to bring the grandchildren. You never know, you may bring your child here and the next thing they want to become an astronaut, and go out into space. I knew I wanted to come back with the grandchildren, and other family members. I went to the front desk and was able to include my current price for our tickets towards the Family Pass, and I'll get free parking, plus a LOT of other benefits, too. Believe me, we'll easily be back a few times this year. I feel like I've discovered the newest best kept secret. And, Linda, thank you for helping explain how all of this works and signing me up for the Family Pass.
MoreStaff are great with families and very knowledgeable. So many different things to see and do. Super fun!!!
MoreInspiring and interactive. Took about 5 hours and saw most everything. Highly recommend the astronaut training facility tram tour. Buying tickets and parking pass ahead online was great as we didn’t have to wait. Everything is completely wheelchair accessible except the coach tour. Jason was wonderful as he helped me feel welcome and assisted my power chair and me onto the tram. Also, we were glad we downloaded the app—it was helpful. Would come again!
MoreWho doesn't like the Space center?! In the words of my 6 year old it's a magical science place where the history meets the future. Plenty of stuff to do, see and take part in! The staff is super friendly and helps out immensely if you have any questions or need anything. They have tram services that takes you to and from the space shuttle observatory. It takes about 3 hours to take in everything and the hands on experience is just fantastic! They also have the galaxy light festival during the holidays!
MoreThe best place to learn and spend the day, they have the ready to fly Saturn V (best of 3 Saturn V rockets). It is a MUST go definitely.
MoreAlways a great experience and always new things to see and learn. Great staff; friendly, helpful and professional. Now highly organized to account for social distancing.
MoreLaunch in to an amazing experience. Learn everything you could ever want to know about America's space program and space exploration. This is the iconic place we all know from just hearing the legendary phrase "Houston, we have a problem". You can come see mission control, where everything happens. There are a few different tour options of the space center, allowing you to really go behind the scenes. There I'd also the museum which is self guided. It is very family and child friendly. You can actually go inside the space shuttle here, perched on top of a 747. It's very impressive. There are interactive areas just for children. The employees are very friendly, helpful and informative. The gift shops here are really great. There is plenty of parking, public restrooms and snacks. The overall experience was phenomenal. If you are in Houston, I highly recommend visiting this place. You won't be disappointed.
MoreGood place to bring your kids here. Start your day from morning 9 am and ends at 6 pm. There are interesting activities for kid which kid can enjoy. Lot of interesting facts about science and its history to space station. They have food plaza inside space center. You will see real rocket and experience tram ride.
MoreTo see, in basically one place, all the things that we, as a whole have accomplished. I would have loved to have been able to have been involved in doing all these fantastic things
